The problem with a lot of activity trackers is that they can look quite ugly on the wrist. There are options for those who want to mix classic analog looks with smartwatch functions, such as the Tag Heuer Connected, but these devices' high price tag and short battery life can put people off. But a new product just announced by Garmin could offer a solution.

The Vivomove watch combines all the best activity tracking features from Garmin's other fitness bands into a stylish analog design. It's able to track calories, steps, and monitor sleep patterns, syncing the data to the company's Connect system. The mobile app helps users achieve their fitness targets and shows how their progress compares with others.

It also comes with a "move reminder" - the red bar down the right side - that tells the wearer if they've been sedentary for too long. The only function it seems to be missing is a heart-rate monitor.

The battery life, often one of the biggest issues for those considering a wearable, will last an entire year, thanks to the CR2025 coin cell battery. And like all of Garmin's devices, the Vivomove is waterproof to 50 meters (165 feet).

There are three Vivomove models available: the $149.99 Sport version is available in black or white; $199.99 gets you the Classic, which features a leather band and comes in black or rose gold-tone; and the $299.99 Premium offers stainless steel or gold-tone steel options, both with a leather band.

Vivomove accessory sports bands are available from $30 to $60, and the watch's 20mm straps are interchangeable with others on the market.
