A solid showing from the Dell XPS 13 and Intel’s 11th gen silicon but hardly groundbreaking.
The Dell XPS 13 (11th Gen) makes the best laptop you can buy even better with a fast Tiger Lake CPU and a stunning bezel-less InfinityEdge display.
This is the best laptop of 2020 with the fewest compromises and the fewest risks. But Dell will need to stay creative if it wants to keep XPS at the top of the stack in 2021.
The Dell XPS 13 combines a gorgeous chassis with Intel’s new 11th Gen Tiger Lake for a seriously powerful ultraportable laptop.
The Dell XPS 13 looks and feels premium and packs an impressively bright screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio that’s great for productivity. But port selection is limited and doesn’t include USB Type-A.
Can't choose between the XPS 13 9300 or 9310? For word processing, video streaming, and casual gaming, the XPS 13 9300 will feel just as fast as the 9310. For editors and graphics intensive applications outside of gaming, the additional GPU power and high performance-per-watt of Iris Xe should prove useful.
As for the choice between the two XPS 9310 models, I’d still go with the standard model for the matte screen option, the slightly nicer keyboard, and the more affordable price (especially if I can get it with a smaller SSD and upgrade it myself).
