Google Pixel Watch 5

The Pixel Watch 5 sports the same design, dimensions, display, and battery life rating as the Pixel Watch 4. So what's actually new? In addition to improved GPS tracking accuracy for outdoor workouts and a faster processor, the Pixel Watch 5 supports three impressive new preventative health/safety tools: Breathing Emergency Detection — which works similarly to Loss of Pulse Detection — Blood Pressure Trends, and Insulin Resistance Trends. Unfortunately, like the also-new Samsung Galaxy Watch 9, Google increased pricing across the board for the Pixel Watch 5 series.

The Google Pixel Watch 5 has, in many ways, been the hardest Pixel Watch to accurately review. Barely anything has changed in terms of hardware. The sizes are the same, the chips and battery got an itty-bitty boost, and there’s a new pyrite satin case finish.

The Google Pixel Watch 5 isn’t a dramatic reinvention, but with its premium design, slick Wear OS experience, smoother performance and genuinely impressive AI-powered health coaching, it remains one of the most polished smartwatches around. Just be aware that some of its biggest health features aren’t ready at launch.

Iterative improvements add just enough polish to an already accomplished Android wearable. The Pixel Watch 5’s Gemini smarts are slick, even if there’s otherwise little here we haven’t seen before.
