Benchmarks: AS SSD Benchmark

Using the AS SSD Benchmark we measured the sequential performance of the drives one more time. As you can see, while the OCZ Vertex 2 Pro and original Vertex drives produce similar results, the Vertex LE is a bit slower.

Despite its inability to outclass its predecessor in the previous test, the OCZ Vertex LE snapped back into action when running the 4K test. Here the drive had no trouble keeping pace with the Vertex 2 Pro, and while it matched the read performance of the Intel X25-M G2, the write performance was 35% greater. Furthermore, the write performance of the Vertex LE was 5.5x faster when compared to the original Vertex.

The 4K-64 thread performance of the OCZ Vertex LE was very similar to that of the Vertex 2 Pro. This meant that while the read performance was considerably slower compared to the Intel X25-M G2, the all important write performance was 83% greater in favor of the Vertex LE.

Finally we have some access times and as you can see the read performance of the OCZ Vertex LE is lacking when compared to the Vertex 2 Pro and Intel X25-M G2 drives. Throughout the testing so far the Vertex LE has more often than not displayed inferior read performance when compared to the Vertex 2 Pro.
