Weekend Open Forum: What upcoming games are you psyched about?

By

In January, we published a comprehensive list of all the PC games we hoped to get our hands on as 2010 unfolded. Now halfway through the year, the landscape has changed dramatically. Many of the titles on our list have long been available and plenty were delayed until sometime in 2011. With the holiday shopping season rapidly approaching, you can rest assured that folks in the game industry are working hard to rollout a tantalizing lineup that'll blow you – and your savings – away.

Last week's E3 show gave us a fresh perspective on what to expect (and not to expect) for the remainder of the year, and we'd love to hear about any forthcoming video games on your wish list. Being deeply rooted in all things PC-related, we're admittedly a bit biased when it comes to gaming platforms. Our most anticipated titles for the latter half of 2010 include StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, Crysis 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Mafia II, Bulletstorm, and Dead Space 2. What are yours?

  1. CRYSIS 2! cannot wait! although have recently bought a brand new car so already started saving the pennys needed for the graphics proccessing =)

and if had a geenie: System Shock 3, Planescape:Torment 2, Titan Quest 2, Doom 4,

  3. Microsoft should launch an AoE2 with new graphics...Besides that utopia, I would like to play Starcraft2.

  4. The game I have been hoping would come out for the last few years is going to come out in september: Test Drive Unlimited 2. I plan on building a new computer just for it later this summer. Whoa, it went all the way to page 2 before someone mention's WoW Cataclysm?

But I fully, completely, whole heatedly, and totally agree with that anticipated game choice!

  8. ^^^ - sorry about that... Wendig0 did mention it on the first page. Good job!

Crysis 2, Cataclysm, and Fallout New Vegas! Yeah baby!

  9. so we are just talking about 2010 games or 2011 games , some of thoses games are not for this year ,so im waiting for halo 5 :P

  10. Looking forward to City of Heroes: Going Rogue. I no longer play the game, but I'm still interested in this.

Trackmania Wii is also something I'm interested in, and I'm also waiting to see how Conduit 2 will turn out.

STARCRAFT II: Wings of Liberty , Crysis 2 and any Mass Effect sequels that are coming after ME2

What are you talking about X?...you haven't even finished Crysis Warhead yet! :p

    LOL!

I did (you evil evil person ^_^). I'm sooo fricking amazed by how real the CryEngine 3 looks. It's insane! I'm really liking the new weapons too such as that portable anti-armor machine gun they showed in the preview! Combined with destructible environments the damage will be insane!

LOL...Trying to justify you $2000 PC, when I can play the games just as well on my used $125 Xbox. XD

lol... trying to play SC2 on your xbox, and can't, I see...?

Mine only cost me $900 (in 2007) including all the upgrades I have done over the past 3 years, and I can play almost all of the newest games (except Crysis) on maximum settings - I only have a low-end Dual Core AMD cpu and a GTX260 core 216 for the gpu. Not so expensive for a PC. Oh and did I mention that I can encode videos, watch livestreams in HD, livestream videos myself and download everything I need and burn backups to Dual layer DVDs as well? That's on top of being able to play.

There is no justification to be had here, just pure pwnage.

  13. Fallout: New Vegas (already pre-ordered the deluxe version), and Crysis 2. Other than that, I'm trying to finish just 10% of all the damn Steam sale games I've bought over the last year.

  14. This month I'm looking forward to Starcraft II, further down the road Crysis 2

There is nothing better than the precision of using a keyboard and mouse when playing games on a computer. People complain that the costs are too high for a gaming computer but when one is working, make some sacrifices and those computer parts will look more affordable.

  15. Of course consoles are inferior to PCs when it comes to graphical capabilities...your PC cost you upwards of 1000 dollars, (for a low to mid range system) and you have to upgrade it every 2-3 years...it's a worthless moneysink

  16. Deus Ex Human Revolution and Crysis 2.

Lots of other games in the pipeline as well though.

  17. Halo Reach, Mechwarrior 5, Starcraft 2, Portal 2, and I doubt I'll buy much else this year (that can be a lot of money even right there lol)

  18. I can't wait to start modding the Cryengine 3!!!

  19. Staff

    Crysis 2

    Deus Ex 3 (Human Revolution)

    Startcraft 2

    Diablo 3

    World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

    Half-Life 2: Episode Three

  20. VERY long list so 'brace' =)

Mostly PC games I'm looking forward to

    - first I'm thinking of getting Sniper Ghost Warrior, Singularity and Medal of Honor, Crysis 2, Kane & Lynch 2, I finished Portal recently and after finding out the cake is a lie =P I want to get Portal 2, Fallout New Vegas looks quite good but I didn't like Fallout 3 I thought it was boring so not sure about that yet, Assassins Creed Botherhood, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, Tom Clancey's Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Fable 3(PC Version), Killzone 3, Motorstorm Apocalypse and Gears of War 3.

  21. So I am not the only one waiting to play Fable 3 on PC? I also waiting for Starcraft II, it's been a long time since I play RTS game. And then of course Diablo III

  22. Crysis 2,Mafia II, Dead Space 2, Fallout:New Vegas. And I hope there is an announcement on Elder Scrolls V.

  23. Now that you mentioned it, I do look forward to seeing what Fable 3 will be like.

I'm also waiting to see how The Silver Lining (http://www.tsl-game.com/) will end up.
