i have system with 2 SATA hdd (seagate and WD) with 750GB each. Os install in SATA, recently my friend bring over his PATA 80GB drive to copy some flash game from my pc, but my pc would not detect his PATA drive and my pc would not boot up(system don't boot from where bla..bla,bla..). so after googling for a while, i go to bios--> IDE configuration and set to PATA(default SATA). it works, bios detected the PATA DRIVE and
the question is:
why my PC cannot display PATA hdd in windows explorer. but it detects fine in bios and device manager.
mobo ASUS(X series) forgot which model already.
any noob guide for this would be appreciated or is it true that sata and pata do not mix together?
by the way i have try SATA+PATA configuration. windows won't boot up either. only by setting to PATA windows can boot and detected the PATA hdd. but not in Win Explorer.
