2000 not shutting down

Within the last couple of days my computer stopped installing any software, (aim, adobe...) and it will not power down.

I currently have Windows 2000 and Windows XP on this computer, but stopped using XP since the same problems were happening there. I switched to useing 2000 only and it hasn't been a problem for a few months but now 2000 is doing it.

Any help?

Have you ran any virusscanners or other spyware detection applications?

Try all the antivirus programs you can... avg... and try spyware s+d.
