8800 GT problem

I put my new GeForce 8800 GT graphics card in, turned on my computer and the mother board started one long beep, so i turned the computer off. Any ideas on whats wrong ?

Does that card have its own power required?
Is it plugged in? (the power)

Also you might want to remove all/any dust inside

And this card, it's compatible with your system I hope (has it ever worked?)

You mounted the new Video card in your computer (this part you did?)
Did you connect the power lead to it? (maybe you should take it out, to see what I mean)

Also if you had posted originally in the "Introduce yourself" forum, I would have stated to put your System Specs in your Profile

To Failure: Please respond to all these folks who are giving you help. I'm curious to find out what it is if it's not the power plug to the card being unplugged. Good Luck.

I had to correct a part of my previous post (which I may have got mixed up with replying to the original member.) I though Gflo was him (due to his bad post) and was replying to that!
