Ahh... and here we see why Acer just got their undies in a bundle over Microsoft building it's own tablet. If you're getting into iPad price range, it better be nice and smooth to use.

Sounds like this thing could benefit from Android 4.1, I wonder why it doesn't have it.

I think its needs Android 4.1 and Tegra3+. At that resolution it definitely needs more power.

Many thanks for the review! I've had my eye on this tab since the start of the year. Mainly for quad core and high res screen. I've since gotten the iPad 3, so the res isn't that impressive. And due to the poor performance of the Tegra 3 CPU, under-clocking, and small amount of RAM it's one Tab to avoid. Seems like you need a quad core to run Android well at 1280x800 and an oct-core to run it at higher res. Perhaps the Tegra 4 or 5 with 2gb RAM...

Oooh! Will there be an "W700" Windows version as well? I have to say, I do love my Win7 Acer Iconia W500 Tab!!

^^^ Looking forward to the W700 tab too, with 3 USB ports(at least one 3.0 port) a faster GPU, better battery life, upgradeable, better use of the screen space (aka bigger screen same size frame), built in stylus, better keyboard with bluetooth.
