Razer Blade 18 Laptop Review: RTX 5090 Power in a Slim, Quiet Package

When you're talking about $5000+ for a laptop, this is the point where I think "leasing" comes into play. I'd rather lease it and then give it back - upgrading to the newer thing later on, than pay it off and get stuck with overpriced, obsolete hardware.

I personally like buying prebuilts. They use the appropriate equipment and then warranty it. My cousin burned out her 4090 Alienware laptop and Dell replaced it. If you're talking about a $5000+ laptop, I want the lease because this way, if something goes wrong: IT'S YOURS - NOT MINE and I'm on warranty so you can take it back and hand me my replacement - if you want me to continue paying.

Given the current pricing madness $5400 for a machine with a 24GB GPU, 32GB of DDR-5 and a 4TB nvme drive seems weirdly cheap.

"You will own nothing and be happy."
In the current world hardware is advancing at a snails pace. This laptop will still be far from obsolete in 3 years and probably still worth plenty by which time you would have already spent way more than it cost to buy in lease fees. Personally I'd never lease anything. Companies only offer leases because they know in the majority of cases it pays out more for them in the end than a straight sale, but each to their own.

Availability is everything. You can't have it if you can't buy it.

If leasing is the next best option, then that's your only option.

Most people aren't going to drop $5000 on a laptop unless they absolutely need it. The 5000 is old now. Makes no sense to spend full price on old tech.

Few weeks ago Microcenter had a flash sale on the MSI raider Max with 5090m and 290hx for $2999. I ended up buying it and getting the extended warranty just in case. The next day it went up by $500 although still cheaper than most 5090m laptops and even some 5080m laptops.
With insider membership I would have been even cheaper $2849. but I decided to go with 6 months 0% interest route. So far it's handling everything I throw at it including neural rendering mods. If it goes back to that price this Black Friday I would recommend that one especially with current outlook on the market.

It's not expected that any 5090 will be available Black Friday.

They have 19 in stock so there is a chance. But you would have to act quickly. I prebought mine even not knowing it would be on sale, by the time it went on sale it was sold out within a few hours. This is another local store that has less demand though.
