SystemLook looks good now :)

Hold on there, I need to review this topic to see where we're at.

I don't think, your computer has any infection anymore.
Your Windows Explorer issue is probably caused by some system files problem.
Your pop-ups were caused by a corrupted system file, which we're able to replace.

Let's finish cleaning process and we'll go from there.

1. Download Security Check from HERE, and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
  • Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

2. Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
  • Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
  • Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
  • TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

3. Go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

  • Disable your active antivirus program.
  • Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  • It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  • When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  • Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
    • Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
    • Archives
    • Mail databases
  • Click on My Computer under Scan.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  • You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
  • Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button. Then post it here.

damn. kaspersky online scanning. keeps on having errors saying i shouldnt have uninterrupted internet connection. im always stuck at the database update.

are there any other options?

i'll wait for your reply, for the meantime i'll wait for the online update to finish (i hope so).. :(

Finally I got the results on kaspersky. but sad to say, kaspersky only detected key-gen. :(

Your Avast is listed as outdated.
Make sure, you update it immediately.

======================================================================

Update Adobe Reader

You can download it from https://www.techspot.com/downloads/2083-adobe-reader-dc.html
After installing the latest Adobe Reader, uninstall all previous versions.
Note. If you already have Adobe Photoshop® Album Starter Edition installed or do not wish to have it installed UNcheck the box which says Also Download Adobe Photoshop® Album Starter Edition.

Alternatively, you can uninstall Adobe Reader (33.5 MB), download and install Foxit PDF Reader(3.5MB) from HERE.
It's a much smaller file to download and uses a lot less resources than Adobe Reader.
Note: When installing FoxitReader, make sure to UN-check any pre-checked toolbar, or other garbage.

my computer is doing fine. i am so happy that you solved one of my problems. as the saying goes one problem is solved another one arises. i have another problem. it magically appeared during the removal process of our bad image pop-ups. i can't recall when it showed up.

the pop-up says DTProAgent (Header)
This program requires at least Windows 2000 with SPTD 1.43 or higher. Kernel debugger must be deactivated.

man! :(

You're very welcome :)

DTProAgent is a part of DAEMON Tools.
I suggest, you reinstall it.

the problem is. i cant uninstall or reinstall daemon tools. i cant any programs in the computer.

the startup popup. if i ok'd it. nothing happens. but i can't find any daemon tools programs on my computer.

Download OTL again and run "Quick scan" without any custom code. Post the log.

sorry for the inconvenience of not responding to your request immediately.
