AMD Athlon 200GE Review: $55 Zen CPU

You are the one assuming I was referring to unfair wages. No one should be put under those harsh environments. You seem pleased about their conditions though. As long as the higher paying jobs come to America, you don't care who has to do the others. My idea is to make conditions better for everyone not just the Americans. I belief all imports coming from countries with worse conditions than our own should be banned period. Then we can decide what wage we are willing to pay for the same job locally.

Now seriously did you have a case to rest? No you didn't.

See, why didn't you say that in the first place instead of making an ambiguous statement.

We were told all "ryzen" will be unlocked

Very nice review

The video-encoding and -decoding engine could´ve been tested, too.
I´m also curious what thisone can do with a GTX 1050 ti or even an RX570 4GB

I think the 200GE is very usable for media-pc in your livingroom
or as office-pc.

I also heared there will be 220GE and 240GE, too.
All "RYZEN" CPUs are unlocked, hooray!
Damn I wish "ATHLON" was unlocked too

Pretty impressive, IMO. Would have bought it for my HTPC if I didn't already have the G4560.
Can your G4560 handle 4K @ 60 Hz playback ? if you have the rightboard with HDMI 2.0 or display port it can else its 4K at 24FPS
With HDR enabled? Nope the 610 video card does not support it .Vega yes not a problem
Can your G4560 be cooled with a passive heat sink?
Can your G4560 run on less power?
it seems your HTPC is out of date, so its a good excuse to upgrade , and your saving the planet with lower power consumption :p

see my remarks up there its a super little CPU for a HTPC

My G4560 uses about 25W total system power at idle, ~70W with a low power discrete GPU (Radeon RX 460 at 50% power) playing a game. So yes, I imagine a passive heat sink would work fine. But the Intel cooler works fine and quiet.

As for the features, if you care about features for the sake of features, go ahead and waste your money. I did try the G4560 at 4K and it actually looked and played pretty decent at 30Hz, much better than I had expected the experience to be, but I don't think that 4K HDR video is a must have feature in any case. I imagine that all TVs supporting 4K HDR also have built-in apps for playing such videos.

Frankly with the discrete GPU not working now, the integrated graphics are a little weak (though still usable in many cases), but it would still be cheaper to buy a low profile GeForce 1030 than buy an Athlon 200GE + motherboard, and it would perform much better.

How are you testing these CPU by the way.
Are you the PC's the same specs.
RAM HDD (is that HDD defrag)
Anything running in the background.

I would like you to line up the 5 best CPU against this one but to be fair this one is 3.2 GHz CPU dual core.
Shouldn't have to go up again 4, 8, or higher cord. My A4 is rated at 2.8 GHz I have it up to 3.0 CPU I can run STO on it on Max Graphics. fortunate games needs more GPU so I use this PC but again. Defrag these systems run your test. Test how fast the boot time to load Windows 10. How fast to load www.techspot.com Real test thing like how long does it take to load a youtube music video how long doe it take to load USA Today if you live here. Stick STO on this CPU you here your testing let me see how it does. But again your test are valid test.

Great review but there was one group you didn't mention that this cpu is perfect for crypto miners before the low end cpus from Intel coupled with mining motherboards could see 18 gpus mining in one system with very low power and costs. Now amd and this cpu can offer same performance at a lower cost with the Intel shortage issues they will capitalise on this if the mining market comes back and I would not be surprised if mining am4 motherboards didn't start turning up from Asus, Asrock etc as well.
