AMD Radeon 9070 and 9070 XT final specs and official performance benchmarks leaked

It will come down to availability and if it's competitive compared to Nvidia's price per frame in the same price bracket. If they can pull this off, they will have a successful new generation launch for sure! But with inflation, a trend of very limited stock, scalpers, and tariffs, this may be a big ask. Lets hope they can bring some much needed competition to the GPU market!

Loving my RX 6800 in Linux, but I'd love to upgrade, if the price makes sense.

Yeah, I totally heard $1200. For the non XT. I swear. Totally is. They're even worse than NV.

🙄

We were all saying that 550$ for 7900XT performance was good, but we thought it would be the XT variant providing that. It is not the case, it is the bare non XT version that is matching the 7900XT.

The 9070 non XT will be around the 550 MSRP.
Maybe. These screen grabs show a 9070 listing for $650 and another at $1099. I'd like to think the latter was a mistake. Whether they stay that way on launch day, we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah. A screenshot showing a 9070xt being $1 more than a 9070. You'd have to be a ****ing ***** to believe that's real pricing.

What we want as consumers is AMD to give Nvidia a bloody nose. It is clear that after the excellent Pascal GPUs Nvidia has become complacent and has driven GPU prices to an unsustainable level.

Blackwell's launch has been mishandled, the performance gains minimal. Stock terrible. Partner price gouging. The door is wide open for AMD. It must be able to take advantage and at least significantly close the gap in performance. Specifically in ray tracing and AI upscaling. There must be competition and a correction in the market. AMD must step through the door and not fumble this launch.

Everyone needs 9070XT to achieve these advances and be priced aggressively, whether you plan to buy a card or not. It benefits all buyers. I wait with bated breath.

And of course, they WON'T price them "aggressively" -and you will (like myself, and many others) be greatly disappointed. They simply can't help themselves. It's corporate greed. I dare Nvidia and AMD to tell consumers exactly how much profit they are making per card........

38% over 7900 GRE would stipulate that it run at performance level of RX 7900 XTX / RTX 4080 Super/ RTX 5070 Ti. Not bad at all, at that price.

Its true but the 5070ti is also selling for more than 5080 msrp currently for some models. I was worried AMD is doing Nvidia math 10% tarrifs yields 25% maek up of nor higher. It seems those as place holders hopefully.
AMD did tease that 80% of the market purchase below that $700 threshold although that might be the MSRP of non existing reference model. Who knows what the cost of aib cards will be.
Do you often disprove your claims with a follow-up post? If so that's pretty cool. Your next post shows prices at $649 and $699 so good on you for the correction:
I was referencing the sources that all talked about the same thing. I never take 1 source at face value and often add forum trolls to the mix. 😎

Looks like more GPU shortage price gouging from AMD. Charging as much as they can get away with given the current market. The 9070 is NOT worth $650. I expect it will sell at the moment though because nVidious only made 30 5-series cards so there's no options.

People keep talking about about AMD's launch drivers with Vega like that's still relevant today. Do people even remember WHY AMD got the bad name for drivers? It's a talking point that almost no one remembers where it came from and hasn't been true in almost a decade.
Im sorry I just have to call this out. AMD drivers have been plagued with several issues over the last 10 years. And they release far less drivers every year and are far slower to release drivers for new games than Nvidia. And this is on top of the fact that the length and quality of driver support on AMD products appears to depend on how popular they are. Notably the driver support for cards like the Radeon 7 has been atrocious and with the poor sales of the 7900 series I wouldn't be surprised if they get reduced to one WHQL driver a year after the new cards are out.

Stupidity is a massive factor. I've worked at a computer shop and you have no idea how many people believe that their G210 is faster than anything AMD have because NVIDIA have the fastest hardware.
Im sure there are stupid people that buy both Geforce and Radeon products. But its not even close to being the main reason why Geforce outsells Radeon 9 to 1.

What happened that is significantly around when AMD took the biggest hit to market share? AMD is Complicit ( family loyalty/ conflict of interest ) is how the story goes!
Guess who came out defending Nvidia stock when Deekseek sneeze caused an almost 20% dip? Patrick P. Gelsinger. You can't make this stuff up.
