Apple has just released its latest inclusion and diversity report, which shows that the Cupertino firm has now completely closed the pay gap between men and woman and white and nonwhite employees in the US.

“We’ve achieved pay equity in the United States for similar roles and performance,” Apple said in Wednesday’s report. “Women earn one dollar for every dollar male employees earn. And underrepresented minorities earn one dollar for every dollar white employees earn.”

Apple spent the last year conducting an internal pay equity study that showed female employees were earning 99.6 cents on the dollar compared to their male counterparts, according to Business Insider, which is a lot better than many Silicon Valley companies. Underrepresented minorities (URMs), meanwhile, were making 99.7 cents on the dollar compared to white employees.

As noted by CNET, the White House says US women earn 78 cents to the dollar compared to men.

In terms of new hires, Apple is slowly increasing its number of female and URM workers. In 2014, women made up 31 percent of new hires, now that figure is at 37 percent. URM hires, meanwhile, have increased 6 percent in the last two years to 27 percent.

Apple classifies URMs as "Black, Hispanic, Native American, Native Hawaiian, and Other Pacific Islander." When you include Asians in the minorities figures, 54 percent of Apple’s new hires are non-white.

The iPhone maker’s leadership roles continue to be dominated by white males. Men make up 72 percent of these positions globally, while 67 percent of its US leaders are white.

Overall, Apple is still mostly made up of white men; 68 percent of its total workforce are male, down from 69 percent last year, and 56 percent are white, an increase of 2 percent from 2015. The company said it is trying to diversify its employees with new hires.

“We see diversity as everything that makes an employee who they are. We foster a diverse culture that’s inclusive of disability, religious belief, sexual orientation, and service to country. We want all employees to be comfortable bringing their entire selves to work every day. Because we believe our individual backgrounds, perspectives, and passions help us create the ideas that move all of us forward,” wrote Apple.

And this is what an apple worker looks like in the rest of the world in their suicide net riddled prison like factories. I'm sure they will be so happy to hear about these new graphs

I'm also still mind boggled how liberals keep claiming this supposed wage gap. If it exists, sue, and you can win a heck of a lot more than what a 22% raise would be worth.
Gender wage gaps are a basic reality known as common sense by most, try a google search. Math is real. Proving that a individual based on gender is being discriminated against case by case is hard to do legally. But on average any study ever conducted will shows a pay gap between women and men.

I am an independent voter concerned with facts, not whatever your favorite news station causes you to parrot.

Don't get me wrong, I fully believe men and women should be paid equally and fairly. These statistics are just highly misleading because there are always factors not accounted for that are just thrown out and ignored by the public, yet in a court room it is shown that fair pay practices are in place most of the time.

E.g. a man and woman both have 10 years experience at a company and the man makes $5k more. Why? The man worked for ten years in a row, the woman worked for 2 years, was off for a year, worked another 6 years, was off a year, then worked another 2 years. This is just an example of where the media is flat out wrong, no matter which news you prefer.

Speaking for old cantankerous white guys, whom, (I'm certain), are really sick of having minorities tell then they're entitled to white people's jobs, well, just because, this is another outstanding reason to not buy my first Apple product, let alone follow up on a prior Apple purchase blunder.

So I think, they should balance out the Foxconn production line workers "diversity" by letting Apple execs go sleep in the dorms and hob nob with the one dollar an hour Chinese factory worker. I mean it's the least they could do, if they're truly serious about "diversity".

I'm betting most of them will opt to stay in the US, and run their mouths about how much they're doing in the name of, "diversity".

Besides, When is Tim Cook going to shut his yap, quit, collect welfare, and give his multi-million dollar salary to a black Muslim woman? That would only be fair, right?

There is no gender wage gap, it's simple as that. The statistics you see politicians and every PC media reporting about is the conglomeration of every job that both gender holds DISCOUNTING the type of job, hours worked, etc. Therefore you can NOT come to a conclusion that there is a gender wage gap. You can search up "Christina Hoff Sommers" for an elaboration of this topic.

On topic, if I ran a company, I could not give two sh*ts about diversity. I would hire and pay people all equally based on their education, experience, and merit. I would not pick an asian, white, black, latino, etc etc over anybody if they are unable to do the job. If there is a woman that is outstanding, I could care less about the fact that she's a woman but rather hire her for her intellect and job performance. This PC culture of ours is going to be the death of America with its regressive left.
