  1. We’re still a few months away from the next iPhone unveiling but rumors are already doing the rounds. The latest comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who has often provided accurate insights into Apple’s iPhone release plan. In a note issued to investors, a copy of which was obtained by AppleInsider, Kuo said the upcoming iPhone 7 Plus will feature a new dual-lens camera system along 3GB of RAM.

The note is an update to a previous report predicting Apple would release two versions of the 5.5-inch iPhone: one with rear single-camera and the other with rear dual-camera -- this sounds very un-Apple like to be honest. Regarding the extra RAM it would be required to meet image processing requirements.

Previous rumors suggest the phone will look very similar to the iPhone 6S and may or may not have a headphone jack. Kuo says form factor constraints may leave the new camera system with "limited" optical zoom capabilities.

Sony and LG will reportedly provide the dual camera parts. Exactly what the dual camera system will enable on the iPhone 7 Plus isn’t clear, but it might help produce more DSLR-like images, using technology Apple acquired from its $20 million purchase of LinX Imaging in 2015. On the LG G5, the secondary lens is used as an ultra-wide angle camera, for instance, while on the Huawei P9 it enables refocusing after-the-fact.

They could stick 12x cameras on the back for all I care. No 3.5mm headphone socket = It doesn't even show up on my radar.
