AVG Anti-Virus

hi all-

I was going to download AVG b/c i am fed up with symantec/mcfee, and dont have the money to buy PC-cillin, i was just wondering if anyone who uses it what they think about it and if its a good product

I have it installed on two computers and have no complaints about it. However, the article I linked below has me concerned a bit....

While AVG Free Edition caught nearly 100 percent of bots and zombies in our collection of zoo malware, it caught a disappointing 65 percent of Trojan horses. It ranked second-to-last in our heuristics tests--detecting just 11 percent of worms and 8 percent of backdoor programs using one-month-old virus data.

AVG free is a much better product than either Symantec or McAfee, best of all it`s free. You`ll also need a Firewall such as the free Zonalarm.

You`ll also notice, it won`t hog your systems resources like the other two, so your system may well run faster into the bargain.

I`ve been using AVG for a couple of years and have never had any problems whatsoever.

I use the free AVG antivirus and the paid-for Agnitum Outpost Pro firewall.
Never had a problem in YEARS.

thanks everyone for reccomending AVG and ZoneAlarm, i just downloaded them and they both work wonderfully, after removing symantec/Norton now my system runs like it did the first power up i love AVG and ZoneAlrm so far
