Battle for Middle-earth II does not respond

I recently installed The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II, but as soon as the splash screen appears, the program stops responding. It works on my other computer, which has the same operating system and comparable processor, so it's not the disc that is the problem, and I'm pretty sure the computer that gives me problems has the right specifications.

it could just be your OS. in some cases when a game is only meant for XP it might work on a different OS if your lucky but then you have some cases when that luck isnt there.
