Black Marks/Dashes in Windows XP Icons/Display Boxes

Hi

I would really appreciate some help with a very annoying problem I have with Windows XP. I have recently installed a new graphics card (GeForce 6200). There are now black dashes on some of the desktop Icons and when I go into the display properties there are black dashes where the preview of the screen is. If I go into System Properties under the General tab the picture of the screen also has black lines/marks across it. I have updated my Bios, tried other Graphics cards but the problem remains.

Can anyone help?

tried checking to see that you are using the correct resolution and refresh rate for your video card and monitor?

I have tried all resolutions and refresh rates from the lowest to the highest and still no joy!

how about drivers for the video card, and chipset drivers for the motherboard?

what are your system specs? and what is your psu's make/wattage rating?
