  1. Hi,

    I want to block a particular IP from accessing my system. It is sending malicious files. My os is xp sp2. I use avast home edtion. The ip is live

    what is your ISP connection {DSL vs Cable} and do you have a router?

    With a router, only port forwarding allows access to your system (ie NAT will block
    all inbound and a major reason for using a router even if you only have one computer :) )

    Even the default FW in XP/SP2 will automatically disallow inbound traffic, so what
    have you installed that is allowing the files to be received?
