hi guys i have been facing this hardware problem recently i know its a hardware problem cause i also resolved it temporarily.
I have a 2 internal hard disk
Seagates 500gb
and Hitachi 80gb
i have an intel dg101ggc genuine motherboard and a Dual core processor 2.66ghz each
i have a DDr1 1gb Ram [2 of them]
onboard graphics and onboard audio
onboard Lan
i use the computer for atleast 18hrs in a day

Case:
the motherboard had 4 Sata ports by which 2 are used by the hard disks and 1 by the samsung Write Master leaving one spared.
the problem is when i boot up
Abnormally the p.c would freeze as i would put it on ,displaying only the motherboard name or sometime it would go blank after displayin the windows Logo at startup.
Sometimes the hard disk would boot fine
then after some time the p.c would freeze enforcing me to restart the p.c
after doing that the motherboard would not detect the windows OS and it would ask me to put a windows Cd.
but if i interchange the Sata Ports for the hard disk it would work like before
but i have to this repeatedly when this problem occurs

Note:
the hard disk work perfectly in my friends computer

Humble request:
Is there a permanent solution so that i dont have to open the cabinet everytime
everything looks so delicate in there its even worse then my mobile phone
plz help

Do your SATA cables have the metal locking devices at each end? Have you tried new SATA cables?

yes it does, but not all of them
Should i buy the new ones and replace all the old cables?
whats the life span of the Sata cable ?
