Buy i5 K version or i7 K for gaming?

At this point I would wait 5-6 months and build a complete new computer with Skylake

I have not read a lot about Skylake but...that will be much more work and much more expensive?

And if my i5 can handle a 780Ti SLI setup then it would be much cheaper to only get another 780 ti?

If I´d go skylake I would have to buy a new CPU and also upgrade my mobo AND buy the 780 ti which will be...(most likely) expensive?

Would it not be better to go with my current setup and just get the 780Ti for SLI? It should be able to handle it I think?

Would not worry, no reason to upgrade to skylake from Haswell as the difference is not going to be enough to justify the price you will have to pay. Again at that point I would say just upgrading to an unlocked processor with the same motherboard (So long as its a Z87/z97) would be better for more performance since overclocking even an old i5 2500K to 4.5ghz still maxes everything thrown at it with plenty to spare. Your processor should be enough though even for a 780ti SLI setup.

Yeah, Well I think I will stick with my locked i5 for now and if needed I will go for a K version and just save the locked version for my girlfriend and build her a PC for christmas or something :p

To be honest, your original post suggested that you are the kind of person who upgrades computers just because they can, not because they need to. Thus it felt you have infinite monetary surplus. Your asked upgrade options from which none of them comes cheap... and the gain is minimal.

Now.... if you build a brand new computer with Skylake, ofc it will be much more expensive .... about 3-5 times more so I believe (if you also include new GPU at this time and M.2 SSD and DDR4 and whatnot) because frankly you need to build entirely new computer (yes you can salvage old case and PSU maybe and maybe few storage HDD-s but I wouldn't bother tbh.). But the speed gain will be way bigger than you get from upgrading your current CPU from i5 to i7 right now or buying another GPU.

Since my current CPU is locked and sometimes when I play games my CPU is at 100% usage then I´d say an upgrade is needed if I want to play with maxed settings. I do not have infinite money and I am sorry if I was un clear on that.

But thanks for your suggestion anyway, I am willing to spend money but spending THAT much money seems unecessary ^^
