I just bought a new TV - and I have a PC downstairs but the new TV has only HMDI running off of it ...so need to buy a new CHEAP card

the pc downstairs was just for buying stuff off the internet ( and maybe the odd video ) and upstairs PC was gaming and looking at PORN ...PC downstairs does not even have a graphics card it is a very simple Intel quad core

My question is : I don't want to spend alot of money on a graphics card as the card I have upstairs still amazing runs ok with most games .It is Gigabyte ( ATI ) DDR5 5770 series 1 gig

Looking at the cards- if I were to spend about £40 I could get a 2gig card @ DDR3 ( GeForce GT 610 GPU ) ..... would it be better than my ATI DDR5 5770 series 1 gig and if so would it be worth swapping the CARDS ?

I really don't know anything about the cards - all's I know is DDR5 is better than DDR3 but in my dilemma one is a 1gig card and the other 2gig

I personally would NOT replace the Gigabyte Radeon 5770 with the GeForce GT 610. The GeForce GT 610 may have more memory, but it is not a better card. The gaming performance would not be as good compared to the 5770. If you have a budget for this new card, you can let us know and we can help you find the best one for your situation.
Another easier solution would to be purchasing an adapter that will convert to HDMI. We can only give you suggestions without knowing what your output is on the computer that is going to use the new HDMI only television. If it is a DVI, you can purchase a DVI to HDMI adapter. If it is a VGA, you can purchase a VGA to HDMI adapter. They are much cheaper than trying to purchase a whole new card.
