Cache comparison

Hi guys,

I'm about to buy a new hard drive and I'm trying to decide between two. They each have 500 gigs of storage, both are 7200RPM but one has a 32MB cache while the other has a 16MB cache. it seems obvious to buy the former, but what exactly does increased cache offer in terms of performance? Also, the 32MB drive is made by Seagate while the other is WD.

Thanks.

The larger the disk cache:

Better transfer rate
Less use on the cpu
Shorter access time.

WD has reliability issue (at the moment) so I would go with the Seagate
