Can I print at home from work?

The gist of it is already in the description.

What I want to know is this:
My printer I have at home (Canon MS560) has WiFi built in.
The other day, I set up a shared network connection in which the printer is one unit. FIY: the network-router uses DHCP.

All in all, I can print wirelessly from my laptop successfully as long as I'm within the router's wireless range.

Is it somehow possible for me to print a document from my laptop, provided I've activated the printer, from work? (Out of wireless range?)

Without having to use a 4 mile long cable... (imagine the static!)

Quick idea, possibly via the internet-connection I use at work?
All further questions will be answered.

printing from home to work would work using the VPN connection.

work to home would require something like GoToMyPC I would think

Sorry for the pretty long delay...

I tried creating a VPN connection to my home, although I've messed something up (that, or my pretty advanced router does not support VPN). All in all the VPN in question does not work.

But: I noticed that Google started offering this cloud-print thing, and I've already set up my computer to the printing cloud. But I have no clue what so ever on how to connect my printer to the same cloud, or any cloud for that matter...

Printer in question: Canon MP560. Network enabled to my home router via Wi-Fi (it has no ordinary ethernet-connector).
