hey thanks for the advise.
yea i got somewhere with the data recovery.........it displayed all my file's but when i tried to recover them they were all too damaged.
any gud data recovery software?

or do you mean format my slave then use data recovery software?

cheers

formatting is the LAST thing you should do if you're trying to recover data.
Formatting erases the directory table.

yea i no. i was just trying to fool myself dat there was an exception with it this time. guess u cant reformat just ur master hdd.

Have you tried having a look in management to see if you can activate the drive?

it wasnt active, now it is, but now cant even see my files with data recovery. unlike before wen i didnt activate it i cud at least see my old files with data recovery software.

It looks like the NTFS file structure may have become damaged. What make of hard drive is it? The manufacturer may well do a free program that can help.

activation will damage data that was missed or not mentioned
PS
I find when drives are not accessible by normal config means I format
only the mft is written to or erased the data never touched I have a 100% success rate doing this

and how does this affect the data you want to recover
my drive count is about 65 standard reformats and data retrieval
just for giggles try it on a test drive

mite as well. format da drive den try data recovery

data retrieval after format for u always works?

cheers
