Cas2 vs cas3

what is the difference between cas2 and cas 3 ram, i think cas2 is better but why?

also for dual channel ram, does the ram just have to be the same make so that i can just order 2 of the same ram off of the internet and config them as dual channel?

For best performance, you want matched set. Some will take 2 Samsung PC2700 even if one is CAS2 and the other is CAS3. Others won't take two CAS2 sticks same brand, if the module chips are from a different batch. Some will take Kingston HyperX but not Kingston Value Ram (KVR) It's best to check the compatability list on the makers site. And check some reviews on the board.
