My cd burner wont burn. I can read and play audio but it will not allow me to burn data or music. I have been using itunes to burn music and windows to write data. My cd burnder is fairly new...any ideas???????????

Optical drives and burners fail quickly. If you use it a lot, it will not last a year... commonly three to six months. Note that most companies now only warranty their drives for 90 days. They burn out. The drive belts and wheels wear out or get slick. They easily go out of alignmen, and are affected by humid climates.
Get a new one and install it yourself with a #2 screwdriver.
