Choosing a suitable gfx card!

Hi all,

I am wondering what graphics card would best suit my system. Specs are: -

AMD 1800
512 RAM

Since counter strike is the only game i play, im looking for a card that would give an 80+ constatnt fps. Currently my choices are GeForce MX 460 or should i go for the higher priced Ti 4200's or above?

go for a GF4 Ti series, the MX series aren't very good. You can get a GF3 that is much better than the GF4 MX and for about the same price.

My recommendation would be to go for:-

NVIDIA Geforce 3 Ti 200 64Mb - Around £100
NVIDIA Geforce 3 Ti 200 128Mb - Around £120
ATi Radeon 8500LE - Around £140
NVIDIA Geforce 4 Ti 4200 - Around £150

An GF4MX460 is likely to cost almost as much as a GF3Ti200 but lacks proper DirectX8.1 support. Any of the above cards will give good mid/high-end games performance.
