Clearing Browsing data on Google Chrome

I click the 3 verticle dots upper right corner, in the drop down menu I click More tools & click on clear browsing data & the top three are checked. . Since The Beginning Of Time is chosen.
Why then when its finished I open a new tab & see images of websites I've been too?? Thank you

History may be gone, but cache lives on (and cookies and meta cookies and perm-cookies ... or whatever it is that we are supposed to call nasty permanent cookies these days). Could be cloud based even if you clean your machine. General rule is probably to never do anything you would't do on Main Street at 2 AM in the morning.

Ccleaner and other similar programs may put a serious dent in this, but only a forensic cyber scientist would know for sure.

Ok, I use ccleaner too not modified meaning download it, install it & use it.(with one exception, I uncheck cookies) Thank you, was just curious.
