Command environment to scan NTFS

  1. I need a scandisk that will scan NTFS but in a dos environment. Anything out there?

    hmm; Can you use a Linux CD? Linux can do this, but DOS?? Can't even spell it and it's so lame, it's doubtful that you will do much in DOS.

    Boot with a Windows CD/DVD and scan from the recovery console.

    I agree

    I agree, get into the Recovery Console (Vista/7 calls it Command Prompt but it's the same thing) and run chkdsk /f.

    I'm looking for alone prog that I can incorporate with the already present utilities bootable pen drive we use to work on the comps with and that is dos based
