Just installed new mobo to replace old one that died. Swapping in one exactly the same but computer won't detect keyboard so I can't get into bios. This is the reason I decided to update BIOS. Followed the directions on Intel website for updating BIOS both with flash drive and cd. Neither worked. Version of BIOS is 431, tried to update to 444 then 478. MoBo is an INTEL D915GAG socket 775. When attempting to update comp just hangs cpu fan is on but the monitor light just blinks off and on. Tried to enter setup by putting jumper on pins 2 and 3 which is labeled 'config' then upon start-up message 'entering setup...' appears at bottom of screen but it just hangs there.

You may have a motherboard that cannot be repaired, if you used the incorrect BIOS, or attempted to install it in an unacceptable way, it can render the board useless... the reason is that the system cannot run to go back and install an acceptable BIOS.
If this is the case, there is probably no fix available to you...
That is a fairly old motherboard, and lots of replacemetns and refurbs are available cheaply.. you should be able to find one for under $30 or $40..
Good luck. Let us know how it worked out for you.
