Hi, I'm using an AMD athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ 2.21 GHz. It has 4 GB ram and an NVidia Geforce 9400 GT.
Recently, I've had an issue with memory intensive programs freezing. Generally, this happens with firefox. After it freezes, I'll check the desktop manager, and it's CPU usage will be hovering between 50 and 70% before I manually close it. It's also happened while playing civilization--although I believe it has only frozen when firefox was also playing in the background (I can't remember completely). The game will freeze, but I'm still able to open up the desktop manager to see that both it and firefox will be running at 50%.
I've made no changes to my computer recently. I have a limited amount of knowledge about computers, but the best ideas I can come up with are that I've gotten some virus (AVG scan has come up with nothing) or some ridiculous memory leak has formed very recently. Any help would be appreciated.
