Ok you have a missing DLL I am looking into that now.

But how is the computer running now? What works what don't and how is the shutdown and startup now? What is remaining other than the missing file?

Mike

The computer is working speedy - it hasn't froze for at least 5 days or so.

When I restart, sometimes the bios screen stays with a half-full bar and doesn't load fully, so I have to shut the pc down with the button and start it up again (like you said, something I might have to live with!)

I still need a firewall. You said that we would need to completely remove ZA as some things may remain from the previous install/uninstallment of it.

But that's about it I think!

help my computer keeps freezing

I dont know why or what to do, but I bought a used laptop and it was working fine except I have three problems. first one is that the power cord is fidgety, meaning sometimes it shows that it is charging and other times it isnt despite being fully plugged in. The second thing is that the battery doesnt hold the charge longer than 45 minutes. Someone mentioned to me that the BIOS needed to get reset or something but I have no idea what that means or how to do it, other than it is something at the beginning of boot up. Lastly my laptop keeps freezing. I have not been doing anything complicated, three times in the past two days it has happened while I was surfing. I was only looking up stuff on the internet, not downloading or anything. Today when I was reading a page and went to scroll down all of the sudden it was just frozen. When it freezes I cant do anything at all. Hold control, alt, delete has no affect on it. I even opened the cd door and closed it with a cd in it hoping it would spark up something....nothing. The wireless switch that I can slide to shut off the wireless, when I switched it off, it still was lit like it was on. The only thing I could do is hold the power button in and finally restart it. My specs are: HP Pavilion Entertainment PC model dv9410us, AMD Turion 64 X2, NVIDIA graphics, broadcom wireless, windows vista home premium, 1GB memory, can anyone help me please
