  1. Code:
I just installed a new cpu. When I was taking out the old cpu a little thremal grease got on the mobo but i quickly got it off. Now when I turn on the computer it turns on, but nothing happens after that. The mobo is not beeping at all....would this be a mobo problem? Neither cpu works now.

    Thanks for any help.

Thermal grease is not the problem, but the CPU could have done damage if it was not the exact, correct cpu for that board. How did you select the new cpu, and why did you abandon the old one.

Just wanted to upgrade...I choose the same socket type as the old one.

I took out the RAM and it did give me 3 beeps...does this mean that my mobo is fine?
