Computer will not install any drivers

Hi I am new to this forum... hopeing this is the right place to put this.

I just recently purchased a new desktop from an auction and it was in new condition. It is from IBUYPOWER and is the 908 extreme slc. The computer starts up fine downloads programs fine such as nortons, flashplayer, BUT will not install a single driver properly for anything i have tried the Cisco Ae1000 adapter, linksys wusb300n and d-link, a printer and a webcam. I have reinstalled windows 7 on the computer useing the restore disc that came with the computer and then just a version of windows 7 pro it made no changed.

Any solution would get appreciated thank you

Could you explain what you see when trying to install. Does it always have the same error? Is there an error message? Does the installation start and seem to fail in the same place? etc.

And where are you getting the drivers from?

Also please do this (we'll try this with one of your devices connected)
  • Connect the linksys usb adapter
  • Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
  • Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
  • If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
  • On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so

ok what happened with the dlink adapter was it would install fine i could get it to connect to the network and then when i restarted the computer it would not work again i could uninstall reinstall and it would work again ....everything else like the linksys adapter will run from the cd that it came with will get to a certain part usually the "please connect wireless adapter now " stage and then just stop working after that point

i connected the adapter and this is wha i got doing what you said
Wireless-N USB Network Adapter USB\VID_13B1&PID_0029\5&C2EB4F1&0&3 This device cannot start.

I have tried getting the linksys drivers from there website for the wusb300n adapter and cannot get them to run

Wireless-N USB Network Adapter USB\VID_13B1&PID_0029\5&C2EB4F1&0&3 This device cannot start.

Hmmm.. well the error reported is consistent with what you report you see, something is preventing the driver from starting on boot

See HERE. Follow the instructions to post your Windows Event Log. It might provide more detail on the error. Probably won't get back to you till sometime tomorrow when i can

Here is what I got from following those steps ...hope this helps you help me :) thank you btw

I took a quick glance. There's a specific error that keeps repeating that looks like it might about your problem.

I don't know what this error is or might mean yet.. but could you check: when you have the chance, try causing the problem to happen again, regenerate the Event Log output and see if the time stamps on these errors in your new log correspond to the times you have the problem (this particular error message sure looks like it applies/is related)

p.s. Glad to try and help :)
