  1. i have a MSI 7800 gt video card and i want to hook up another monitor. would it be smart to get another card and sli them together?and if so does it matter what kinda card i need or do i need the exact same one? and is it better to hook up one monitor per card or to put two monitors on one card?

Hello and Welcome to Techspot!! :)

There's no need to use SLI technology, if you just want to hook up two monitors. SLI is just for gamers wanting high-end video performance ;)
Just use two monitors on the same card, I'm pretty sure that your 7800GT has 2 video outputs.

i dont think you can run a dual display and sli at the same time and im not sure if dual display brings down the games performance while doing sometihng else such as browsing the interent
