Connecting laptop to a receiver?

I am having problem with the idea of connecting my laptop computer to an amplifier so i could receive the audio through external speakers. Please help.

Nothing to it. Get the proper cable (mini stereo to RCA) connect the mini stereo end to your laptop (green connection) and the other end to your reciever input such as CD, AUX etc.
