Counter-Strike: Source fps problems

  1. my fps is around 100-150.. but then in open areas etc or when there people around or shooting my fps drops to 50-70... but its mainly 80fps.. :s EVERYTHING IS ON LOW including lowest resolution

    PC Specs are

    Intel(r) core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz
    Windows 7
    Ram : 8.00GB
    System Type : 64-bit Operating System
    GFX card Nvidia GeForce GTX 260

    iv done virus scans etc all clean
    i have lastest drivers etc..
    iv no idea what it could be :/

    please verify

    mention the version of cs and also if you're talking of multiplayer mode.

    When you are in open areas or if there are more people shooting, your gpu has to do more work so there will be less fps.

    ok so your specs are cool and the games working fine. No need to worry as you have high ram, the game might not crash. And yes about your fps problem, its normal with those specs. As when you are playing in the open there are a number of things to be processed.Also these things like trees and all are complex stuff which eat up your f/s rate.As you are telling its multiplayer, well it tends to be even slower.

    Anyways what you can do is upgrading your processors to like i5 or i3.But there will always be a difference in outdoor and indoor experience.

    **just for the fact my gta 4 mp works @ 7.9 f/s rate.
