ok,
From reading different reviews, specs, and forum conversations i've made the assumption that this will work.
can you guys tell me if it wont.. thanks
ok what im going to try to setup is....
a intel celeron 2.6ghz @400mhz on
(any motherboard with 800mhz fsb) with
1 stick of 256mb 266mhz ddr ram and 1 stick 512mb 333mhz ddr ram
with windows xp, nt or 98se
now the motherboard that im planning to use says it works with 400mhz ram
will it also work with the 266 and 333mhz ram and just downclock to 266 and also the motherboard is suposed to automatically downclock to 400mhz and match the cpu right?
so if it works the system will run at 400mhz fsb, and the memory will run at 266....right?? will this work??

The BIOS in most motherboards is set to automatically detect the processor and memory and set their speeds. One issue you will have though is that the 333 memory will run at 266 unless you overclock the 266 RAM to 333. Most RAM will do that. You cant run RAM sticks at different speeds.
