I have a asus a7n e deluxe with a 6600 256 and a athlon 2600+(2ghz)
cpu with the 233 bus also a gig and a half of ram. I have gotten a score of
like 2000 on 3dmark 05, is that a good score , I think it sucks! Am I wrong?
I would think I would at least have a 3000. Someone please answer me post.

For 3Dmark05 it is a low score - you probably have the LE version of the NV6600. You might need to look at a few optimisations.

I get that score with a Sempron 1.8GHz and a FX5200 card.

optmisations?

thanks for the reply,Do you mean bios ops, like upping the agp voltage from 1.5 to 1.7 volts, messing with memory timings, flashing the bios, or adddressing the nview settings, which I have not found many options there. I here the newer cards use more voltage but not in the bios but with the extra power connector
that you connect to the power supply. Other than that I am perplexed with
my 2000 score, that is a little bit higher than my radeon 9600xt 128 megabyte score which isn"t really comparable to a best buy pny 6600 256 megabyte
card!

6600 256 t0 6600gt 128

I tried a few things and decided ti take the card back to best buy and go
to a local computer store and buy the 6600gt 128 for even less money and
got a score of 3200, a 3rd faster for less $, however while at best buy I was tempted to buy agp x700 but decided to go with the 6600gt, I am sure the cards are the same in performance?

each card has 8 pixel pipelines, an 128 bit memory interface

x700 might of had more RAM, you didnt say (but its not going to give you much boost in benchs)

GT has a much higher clock rate.

GT might have a slight edge

Both card are aimed at the same market - performance is close.

The GT is the better card.
