Dell Inspiron screen dim on startup

I recently changed my display out. Every time I boot up the computer I have to unplug and plug back in the connector shown in the photo to have full color, otherwise it is a very dim screen. Using windows xp. Any thoughts????

Was the replacement LCD panel the same part number as the old panel?

As close as I can tell it was the replacement , it has a clearer glass look to it.

That is what they call a glossy panel. I prefer them for indoor use... If you connect an external monitor, does it work properly?

It does the same with an external monitor

Before you buy a new panel, try an external monitor with out the damaged panel connected... If the external monitor still shows trouble, you might have a motherboard issue too

The motherboard may need to be replaced too
