Disappearing wireless network card

I recently reinstalled XP Pro SP3 on a dell latutude D600. Reinstalled all drivers but the wireless card seems to have disappeared. Anyone have any suggestions?

When you say wireless card? Card slot, USB Adapter or On-board Wireless? Go into the BIOS and make sure on-board wireless is enabled. If you have installed the drivers for the miniPCI wireless then it's either not working or there is and issue on the system. Go to DELL and grab the correct driver for that wireless you have. If not then get a USB dongle wireless 802.11(b,g,n) and use that instead.

It is an onboard wireless. It is enabled. Got the driver from Dell and Intel (pro wireless lan 2100, end of life by the way). Pc Wizard 2010 sees it under system summary but when I go to networking it doesn't show up. when I try to install the driver s it says device doesn't exist. Me thinks it's fried. What thinks you?
