Do you ever need to reset the PRAM or SMC more than once?

I've heard that resetting the PRAM (more than two chimes, like three..) or SMC (do it two times, not only one) more than once is sometimes needed.
What's your experience?

First off I had to look up what you were talking about (I'm no Mac user), so for this topic I know next to nothing.

After reading that link I can only imagine, redundant reset being just that redundant and unnecessary. This is the same concept as resetting the BIOS for PC. You either "do or do not, there is no try".

There are times when the PRAM has to be reset multiple times. One is after resetting the OF password after booting from the file supplied by Apple if the Mac still thinks it's disabled.
