Hello everyone. I recently ordered a mushkin "2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM 800 (PC2 6400)". I was wondering which config would be better 3gb running in Dual-channel at 667mhz since thats the current ram i have on the system thats what I'd have to set the new one too, rite?. Or removing the 1gb that runs at 667mhz and just using the new 2gb at 800mhz. I dont really know exactly what Im talking about so feel free to let me know anything if i was incorrect. But from what i read on wikipedia it said a bottleneck effect would happen if the processors FSB was greater than the memorys speed, so that's why I want to know which would be better.

System specs

core2duo@2.2ghz/FSB@800mhz(E4500)
1gb RAM at 667mhz
320g hd
XP home

If the Ram is rated at 667mhz, then that's all it'll ever do

I say go for the 3 x 1gb RAM at 667mhz (if you have 3 exactly the same)
