Dvd Burner Issue

I Have an LG GSA-4040B dvd burner , i just bought a 100 pack of memorex blank dvd-rs but some reason i can only burn at 2 speed when i actually i can burn at 4 x

i have upgraded the firmware but yet i still have the same problem can someone help me out here.

Probably just the disks combined with your burner. Have you ever successfully burned that brand and speed before? Things like this are why once I find a brand that works I stick to that brand and speed for the life of the burner.

i did in the begining but the discs were expensive and still are but im just confused on why the burner wont burn at 4 x but instead at 2x

What is the max burn speed of the disks, x2 by any chance???
