Hi everyone.I seem to have a problem with my DVD drive on my desktop. Winodws cannot detect my DVD drive. It doesn't show up on my computer and also on device manger but it's detected by BIOS. I'm using Sony Optiarc DVD-RW drive, can't remember the exact model. Can someone please help? I will provide any information needed.

Alright, I have experienced this quite a few times before with my Matshita DVD drive and this is one of the solutions that worked for me...

1) Start the Run Command Prompt

2) Type in "regedit" without the " then click ok

3) Look for this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

4) Then delete the upper and lower filters and restart your computer. See if it works.
