Interested in getting your hands on some custom 3D-printed products but simply don’t have the extra cash to throw down on a new 3D printer? No worries - there’s an app for that! eBay recently launched a new app called Exact that lets you buy and customize 3D-printed merchandise directly from your mobile device.

The online marketplace partnered with three of the top names in 3D printing: MakerBot, Sculpteo and Hot Pop Factory. As of writing, there are less than 20 products up for sale, ranging from jewelry and figurines to phone cases. It’s not much but I suspect more items will be added in the coming weeks and months as more people download the app.

Some products, like Sculpteo’s iPhone 5 case, can be fully customized using the built-in user interface. Other products allow the buyer to select from a variety of materials including plastic, wood and metal. There’s even an engraving feature to make a product uniquely yours.

Users order directly from the manufacturers mentioned above and can pay using PayPal. Prices range from around $9 for an iPhone case to $350 for a metal ring. We’re told that items will ship within seven to 14 business days after an order is placed.

It’s worth pointing out that the app is only available for iOS as of writing. No word yet on when or if an Android app will drop although I suspect they will stick with one platform for now to gauge user interest before investing more money into the venture.

The app is available now free of charge from Apple’s App Store.
