Elon Musk says lockdown is "fascist" and "forcibly imprisoning people in their homes"

You think the sheep will stop breeding. NY didn’t make people breed like rabbits, NY doesn’t create high immigration. No government on earth will act to reduce population growth, wait until the world has 15 billion and USA is 600 million. World is in a population ponzi scheme.
But yet, the inscription on the base of the Statue of Liberty says it does. Ever heard of "Ellis Island"?

As for Musk he’s been mentally unstable for a long time, clearly bipolar at least. Opens his mouth to change feet.
The simple fact of the matter is, that the Muskster hasn't been in the news enough recently to stroke his massive ego.

Covid19 has had top billing for a few months, and he's trying to yap his way back into the limelight. His narcissism demands it. He simply can't help himself..

meant at Lew Zealand. the population growth slowed 3 years ago, and continues that trend, albeit slowly. but why bring up population count? are you insinuating you like to see death and despair? the planet has spoken to you.
You can obviously read or insinuate whatever you choose into my statement. (Even if you're dead wrong, and just like to hear yourself talk).

I think we need clean air and water, which is getting harder and harder to come by with the number of humans we already have on the planet. I think we need to protect the life of other creatures on the planet, which up to now, has been a lousy, even deadly, undertaking. <(See what I did there)?.

I saw a bumper sticker that said< "don't breed them, if you can't feed them". Words to live by, IMO.

Why anyone pays attention to Musk, Gates, Zuckerberg (funny, my spell checker wants me to replace Zuckerberg with Rubbernecker ) et. al. is beyond my comprehension.

Wait! I forgot! Billions, and billions, and billions as if that means anything beyond they learned well how to scam everyone else and hoard the haul for themselves.

Agreed!

There has been a marked increase in air pollution in the US since 2016. https://phys.org/news/2019-11-air-quality-worsened-premature-deaths.html 2016, I wonder what happened then???

And here is a lovely article about the highest levels of microplastics yet found on the ocean floor https://phys.org/news/2020-04-scientists-highest-microplastics-seafloor.html

Why, I bet you could even slog your way through all the bullsh!t here, completely unaffected, with a pair of those beauties... (y) (Y)
Yeah. Every time I have visited TechSpot since the pandemic started, I find it necessary to douse my entire body in hand sanitizer. ??

In reality, I am a mad scientist trying to breed resistant bacteria for my pet bacteria farm. ? I have even named one of them "Ben."

the people that buy the items are already wiping everything down as they buy, or put in the garage for a few days before opening. why, you aren't already doing this? it's almost May, get on with it!
In my county, 7 total cases for the month of April. So no, we're not feeling the corona vibe.

Nah. All you have to do is wash your hands while singing "Happy Birthday", (twice, and don't forget to pay the public performance royalties), then give the mouse and keyboard a shot of Lysol

I would have gone with, "Elon-gation", or maybe "Muskcateria".

662 tested, 7 positive at a 0.01057401812 infection rate. Mix results may apply nationwide. Safer at home order. Not really applied as much as I can tell. I don't out that much anyway but when I do, there's traffic everywhere. Yeah, they're doing some of these things but I would expect more cases even so. Should be washing your hands any damn way, regardless of what's hanging around.

Definitely, Elon-gation and Muskcateria are great names; however, I just could not resist Ben the Bacterium.

Yes. I prefer Ivory myself - none of that mutation inducing superbug creating anti-bacterial stuff in there that science has been warning about for several years now. I was beginning to think that there was hope to remove all these antibacterial soaps from the marketplace as that started to happen, then Along Came Coronavirus, and all that progress was dumped in the loo.

I am sure all the bullsh!tters on here will be yelling at that paragraph; then again, I like to read science oriented articles, and those articles, for many weeks now, as you point out, support that a good hand-washing is at least as effective as hand sanitizer and it, sans antibacterial agents, is likely to be far more effective at keeping disease, in general, at bay in the future.

It is just like humanity, though, to jump on :poop: solutions only to later find out that the solution was worse than the problem. When I saw all the hand sanitizer dispensers roll out everywhere, it was a  moment for me!

Elon is 100% correct. The lockdown will cause more damage than the virus. A lot more. In fact in years to come coronavirus will be remembered as an economic catastrophe and not a pandemic.
That is 100% false. And the vast majority don't want the lockdown to be removed so soon. Especially with the fake death rate reported by the US officials.

Sheep dont, they want the government to provide their needs, but fail to realize that means our taxes gotta sky rocket. Honest hard working people want to work, lazy leeches want this to continue.

Musk is an a**hole, who most likely lives in a gated community, in a house with a "safe room".

That's not to mention that he owns a 70 million dollar private jet. So, it stands to reason that he isn't worried about getting Covid19 while sitting next to a homeless person.on a NYC subway train.

He really doesn't have the right to an opinion on the topic, but what he lacks in common sense, he makes up for in arrogance, ignorance, hubris, and plain old ballz

No, but it is the city/government that allows buildings to be built where people live shoulder to shoulder. A certain "party" of the government thinks slaughtering millions of children is the answer. They even openly promote it and force me to pay for it. Crazy messed up world isn't it?

And what exactly will "businesses" do when the vast majority are still in their homes? Will restaurants start ordering ingredients and call the workers back just to wait for the food to spoil because nobody is eating out? This is what simple minded people don't understand. You just can't do proper business right now. Stay in your home and wait for at least 2-4 more weeks. By the end of May you should see numbers improve and people will naturally start going out.

This is not about being lazy, it's about protecting those around you who are still vulnerable, like my parents whom are almost 70yo. I don't care about your "taxes", I care about those who are dear to me and I will sacrifice part of my livelihood for them, just like many others are doing right now. I took a big cut to my revenue during the crisis.

Besides, the only arguments I tend to hear from the minority that don't care about covid-19 is that they don't believe the virus exists or that it's all just a conspiracy. Those are the people you are trying associate with.

Well, here in "Filthadelphia", I hear the black community pissing and moaning about they're being "disproportionately affected" by the corona virus. And yet, while standing on my porch the other night, I saw at least a half dozen of the stupid bast*rds, passing around a spit laden joint. I thought I might get "a contact covid", from the reefer smoke.

But yet the crack and skag business seems to be booming. None of the dealers are "laid off".

Well thank God your wrong my state is reopening. And yes it's about fear and laziness, I have an 87 yr old grandmother, I drop food off in bags at her house, she doesn't go out and we take care of her needs no need for her to go out. Same for your parents. But healthy able bodied people need to get off their *** and back to work

As far as food spoiling, it is the restaurant manager's responsibility for planning food supplies. They will need to watch local area announcements. If the floodgates are opened restaurants may be swamped by everyone wanting to eat out at the same time. Conversely if it's staggered it will be more easily predicted. People going back to offices is a large part that fuels eating out. I have loved working from home. I always ate lunch at restaurants during the week, but I've been cooking at home. I haven't eaten out for almost two months now and I love it! Restaurants have been gouging us for quite a few years now, so if they go away it wouldn't bother me. Especially the fast food chains. $10+ for a nasty burger and fries? I hate to say that, but it's the way I feel. In these times we have seen restaurant prices drop - to where they should be. We can really see how much they've been taking advantage of us.

I haven't heard of a single person saying this virus doesn't exist. What I have been seeing is just how bad these news (tabloids they should be called) are fear mongering. It is nowhere near as bad they say it is. The government is taking advantage of it. Is it helping? Sure. Is it worth it? No.

What do I believe is the best of both worlds? Don't force companies to close. Let employees decide their risk level and businesses reduce their own risk by trying to allow employees to WFH. Employees who don't accept the risk should be protected. As far as personally going out - protect yourself as wanted if you want to. Don't feel safe? Don't go out. This goes for every single day, not just these times! :)

High sunlight and high humidity is said to kill the virus. Chicoms and their handlers among the threads no doubt would like that very much.

There is a big difference between staggered and what these people want (quick one with most if not all restrictions removed from the start and don't deny it). The timing of it is also terrible.

In the end, saying that the restaurant manager is the one responsible means nothing when he has no costumers. It's just pointless risk taking for zero profit, just so you can say you are "free".

"I haven't heard of a single person saying this virus doesn't exist." - wow... just wow. do you want me to link videos? are you really going to be "that" guy?

It's a freaking pandemic with over 1mil Americans infected (and we both know these numbers are on the low side). Saying that you should not force people to stay in their homes until this is under control is just childish and frankly... simply insane.

Stay in your home for another few weeks and stop complaining. Take a look at Europe for a bit and learn from what is happening there. Nobody cares that you accept the risk it brings to you when you disregard everybody around you.

TL;DR the idea that "I'm not afraid so I'll go out" is just stupid.

Thank God that your grandma is OK and that she doesn't go out. Healthy bodied people should take the hit so that people like her don't have to be afraid of going out in a few weeks.

If you randomly infect her because more people are on the streets that's on your hands, but you don't seem to understand that. Insanity at its finest.
