Error message while starting firefox

when i start firefox i get this message
"The instruction at "0x7b6670a1" referenced memory at "0x7b6670a1". The memory could not be "read".

Click on Ok to terminate the program



if any one can help me out it would be much appreciated.

disable ALL extensions and Add-ons, close FF and relaunch

My first thought would be to check your computer for Adware especially, and also for worm/virus activity.

Search and/or repair software which comes to mind is AdAware, SpyBot Search & Destroy, ummm... can't think of any more just now. Adware (not AdAware) has a well-earned reputation for causing weird and (otherwise) unexpected crashes.

And try to pre-install the browser.

uninstall and reinstall the new version!
