Facebook group lost admin, how to get new admin by only members permission

Hi all
I am member of group in Facebook, this group exists 2 or 3 years and has only 1 admin which created this group, but admin is not active last time he/she(we do not know him/her) was online 2 years ago, the group became very popular, but members of this group need admin to protect from trolls and and other unwanted guests
Can we(members of the group) somehow elect admin and get admins permission
Try create new group and move there not works, because members still posting in this old popular group, we really need admin, but do not know how

Both sad and funny. Corp America has this problem in spades - - ownership or admin control vested in one person and some time later, that person, quits, gets fired or worse. The solution is to avoid single user ownership and to allow a selected set of 'special users' also have control.

Facebook however, has no such technique and the 'special users' will need to be negotiated amongst the group itself. However, you are now too late to make that work.

A new group will be necessary and you need postings from the old to point to the new.
